About the Group
Aloha & Welcome to Kaua‘i’s Brain Injury Support Circle, a compassionate community space for individuals living with acquired brain trauma or injury. This group was created to offer a safe, supportive environment where participants can connect, share, and heal together.
Our mission is to:
Stabilize social skills and support everyday life challenges
Share practical tools for neuro-emotional health
Introduce holistic practices that support whole-person healing
Offer creative expression through art therapy
Connect members with experienced healers and health professionals in the Kaua‘i community
Whether you're new to brain injury recovery or further along your journey, you’ll find empowering resources and heartfelt connection here. No one has to walk this path alone.

Kaua'i BIG: Facilitators
About Steph
Steph is a Registered Nurse in Wilcox’s ICU, specializing in intensive care and neuro-recovery. With a Bachelor of Nursing and experience in Neuroscience ICU and stroke/TIA clinics, she saw firsthand the need for better long-term brain health support.As facilitator of KauaiBIG, Steph is passionate about neuroplasticity, strengthening the parasympathetic nervous system for brain resilience, and expanding access to recovery resources across Kauaʻi. She believes healing thrives through education, creativity, and community connection.Outside of her work, Steph enjoys fitness classes, yoga, and spending time walking and stargazing with her husband and their dog, Gigi. Inspired by Kauaʻi’s close-knit community and enduring aloha spirit, she is honored to support healing across generations.

About Sosa
Sosa is a trauma-informed wellness practitioner, guiding community members through practices that support emotional regulation, nervous system healing, and self-connection. With training in yoga, sound healing, Reiki, and meditation, Sosa brings a holistic lens to the brain injury recovery journey—integrating movement, breath, and intention to nurture the emotional body.As co-facilitator of KauaiBIG, Sosa is passionate about creating accessible, heart-centered spaces where healing can unfold through stillness, rhythm, and community support. Their approach invites participants to slow down, feel deeply, and discover their own inner tools for resilience.Off the mat, Sosa enjoys dancing, cooking nourishing meals, and connecting with the wisdom of nature and the stars. Deeply inspired by Kauaʻi’s land and people, they are honored to support collective healing rooted in compassion and aloha.
